The Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library (SRFOL) exists to support the operation of the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center. The SRFOL, through volunteer services, assists library patrons, hosts special events, operates a used book store (Grace's Book Nook), and provides financial support for acquisitions and community activities.
The SRFOL is an officially chartered, §501(c)(3) non-profit, educational organization. As such, donations made to the SRFOL are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law under Internal Revenue Service tax regulations.

Library Hours Change Starting March 20, 2010
Due to City of San Diego budget cuts across all departments, Scripps Miramar Ranch Library hours are being reduced starting March 20, 2010.

Starting March 20, 2010 , only the Central Library will be open on Mondays. The following libraries will observe Sunday hours: Central, La Jolla/Riford, Point Loma/Hervey, and Serra Mesa-Kearny Mesa. The Central Library will be closed on Saturdays. Please visit the main website of the San Diego Public Library by (==> Clicking Here <==) for a schedule of operating hours for all branches.
Books may be returned to the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library anytime, day or night, any day of the week including holidays by depositing them in the outside book drop, which is located to the left of the main entrance near the staff entrance to the Library.

The seventh in a series of eight free lectures on aging and elder care will be presented in the Community Room at the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center. This series of lectures is co-sponsored by the Scripps Ranch Elder Care Alliance, the Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library, and the San Diego Public Library. Refreshments will be served.

Science of Breath & Meditation Workshop
Saturday, March 20 (10:30 am - noon)
On the third Saturday of every month, the Scripps Ranch Library will provide a free Science of Breath & Meditation Workshop for library patrons and the Scripps Ranch community. This workshop will provide an opportunity to explore secrets of breath, and its connection with the body and the mind. Learn easy techniques to reduce stress, increase energy and clarity, relax the body, and calm the mind. These workshops are provided by the volunteer-driven, non-profit Art of Living Foundation . Pre-registration is not required—just show up and get ready to De-Stress San Diego. The workshop is held in the Community Room of the Scripps Ranch Library Center.
"Pleasure of Your Company" Music Series
Peter Rutman Jazz Band

The Peter Rutman Band will entertain you with jazz classics, blues, old standards, and Latin favorites. Peter has delighted audiences in Canada, New Zealand, Europe, and Central and North America. The concert will be held in the Community Room of the Scripps Ranch Library Center. Meet the artists at a complimentary post-concert reception. Please note that the book selected for March's meeting has changed from the previously published schedule. At March's meeting we will discuss The Brass Verdict by Michael Connelly. Library Closed for Cesar Chavez Day

The Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center, as well as the entire San Diego Public Library system, will be closed in observance of Cesar Chavez Day. The outside book return, located next to the Staff entrance at the front of the library building, will be open for the convenience of patrons who need to return checked-out material to the library.
